Battlefield 3

Unfortunately for the eager PC community, Battlefield 3 was not announced at E3 2010. However, there's no reason for lost hope. With MoH using some of the DICE staff, BF3 is probably just stalled for now, but we should see a formal Battlefield 3 announcement soon after.

EA has released a list of game we can expect at E3!

However, there is no mention of Battlefield 3 . The only thing I could expect in concerns to Battlefield 3 making it to E3 would be another EA/DICE representative stating it's in production. OR, it's a hidden release, they may announce Battlefield 3 during the E3 conference.

I received an email from an anonymous contact earlier. In the email, it contained pictures of a Battlefield 3 game case! Here they are:







No other information besides "there may be more later" was included in the email.

On the cover there's clearly "Battlefield 3." EA's and DICE's logo can be found on the front right. At the top, there's piece of text that says "PC DVD." Also, a gun looks to be laying on a white sand/desert style ground.

Probably fake. Just look at some of the game names (EA spore-ts, Faith and a .45, make.believe.move) among others. Does mention Battlefield 3 again.

G4 now has a page for Battlefield 3 and they're claiming a release date of this July! A little odd considering that's two months away and we haven't heard anything since February.

While the page isn't an official confirmation of Battlefield 3, the video is actually a very accurate depiction of the Battlefield franchise.

UPDATE: G4 has updated the release date as of today to July 15, 2011.

UPDATE: G4TV's Gaming Editorial Director, Eric Eckstein contacted me and stated the following:

As some of you may know already, Gordon Van Dyke, a long time member of DICE and worked very closely to the development of the Battlefield series has left DICE. He hasn't left EA though, he currently has moved to Visceral Games (which is also apart of EA.) While we're sad to see him go, we assume it was for the best of reasons. While the decision was a tough one, he stated that the project he would be working was a big one and that it would also bring him closer to some of his family in the California
