The Holidays, And 2008 Are Gone No Battlefield 3 This Year!

Posted: neged @ Fri Dec 26, 2008 12:37 am

As the original rumors stated, Battlefield 3 (BF3) was supposed to be announced in Janurary, what came was an announcement for BF:H. Battlefield 3 was supposed to be released by the end of 2008, it clearly is not here. Late 2009 looks like it may hold some information. Plus, over the next few months, who knows what we'll hear and see! Also,

The Next Battlefield To Be Advertised?

Posted: neged @ Sun Nov 23, 2008 8:48 pm

What if the next big Battlefield game were to be advertised? Mirrors Edge is honestly the only game by DICE that I have seen advertised on TV. What if DICE were to do the same for the next Battlefield? Here's an interesting ad that I saw yesterday for Mirrors Edge:

Battlefield 3 = Battlefield: MMOFPS?

Posted: neged @ Sat Nov 08, 2008 9:56 pm

Battlefield 3, as most eager BF3 fans now know, has been officially denied by DICE, but they state they have not forgotten about the hardcore PC gamers, so if the next Battlefield isn't called "Battlefield 3," then what could it be? Maybe it will be a continuation of BF:BC except on the PC of course. Or, once again a MMOFPS? This certainly wouldn't relate to the other Battlefields that we are so accustomed too either. It is possible though.

DICE: "There is no BF3, that's just a rumor"

Posted: yeoldehomer @ Fri Oct 03, 2008 2:06 pm

Here's some potentially bad news.

Total Battlefield recently had the chance to speak with Gordon Van Dyke, Associate Producer at DICE, to ask him some questions our members had submitted regarding Battlefield: Bad Company. Several of these questions were things the DICE team had not thought of so, to our members, feel proud when you start playing Karkand on the PS3 or 360.

...

TBF: Battlefield was traditionally a PC franchise and a lot of BF Fans really feel left out. Well we be seeing a PC version of Bad Company?

GVD: There’s no plans for Bad Company to go onto PC. For the avid fans they might’ve caught in July I think it was, our Executive Producer Ben Cousins mentioned that there were other projects in the works and that we haven’t forgot about the hardcore PC group. That’s about all I can say.

TBF: I know it might be hard for you to comment, but some members were wondering if Bad Company was being used as a test bed for BF3.

GVD: No, Bad Company is not being used as a test bed for anything. And, there is no BF3, that’s just a rumor. But it’s not a test bed for anything. It was more of picking at the next level for the console area. DICE is a very large studio so when there is one project in the works it doesn’t mean that everything shuts down for the rest of the company. There are different teams working on different projects (Including Heroes, Mirror’s Edge, and so on).

...

TBF: As you were saying, many of our members are hardcore PC gamers who are all just curious about the rumored BF3 but I can understand why you can’t say anything.

GVD: I came from playing Battlefield on the PC but now that’s not my area. I think that people should just be patient. Like it’s been mentioned by several of the senior guys over at DICE is that we haven’t forgot the hardcore PC gamer. So, don’t worry.

To the hardcore guys - Patience. That’s all I can say.

So it seems that although DICE have a Battlefield project in the works for the hardcore PC gamer, it may not be the rumored BF3.

I'm having trouble deciding whether this is good news or bad news. It seems to indicate that the "leaked" information we received last year may be inaccurate, and that the next Battlefield series game on the PC (excluding Heroes) may be very dissimilar to BF2.

I just hope we don't get another WWII game or a futuristic endeavor again.

Thoughts?

Battlefield 3 Release Date

Posted: neged @ Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:34 pm

There was a poll asking for opinions on when Battlefield 3 should be released a while ago, but when do you think the Battlefield 3 (BF3) release date will occur?

I'm saying late Summer 2009, why? Because it makes sense in my opinion.

Battlefield 3 Game Plan

Posted: neged @ Mon Sep 01, 2008 10:25 pm

Battlefield 2 is still relatively a popular game, according to Xfire it ranks #5 for playtime with a about 1.2 million combined minutes per day. One of its competitors is CoD:4, a highly popular game, ranking #2 per day with 12 million plus combined minutes of play. How can Battlefield 3 duplicate?

Call of Duty 4 combines incredible graphics and physics without disrupting game play values. Game play values include: Great maps, great hit boxes, relatively low system specs, ADDICTING.

Battlefield 3 can easily duplicate the success of CoD:4 by focusing on the maps most importantly. More Dragon Valleys for planes and helicopters, Highway Tampa for Armor, Strike at Karkand and Mashtur City for infantry, plus everyone's favorite, Wake Island a mix of everything.

Make maps for specific purposes, and along with that offer a possible expansion or booster pack that would focus primarily on infantry combat. With a fun and addicting core (Battlefield 3,) an almost Counter-Strike/CoD:4 combat feel could be created with close quarter combat and NO VEHICLES. I know it sounds kind of silly, but Battlefield 3 would dominate, the best warfare franchise and a highly popular infantry only based expansion pack.

New Enter Gaming Site Possibly On The Horizon!

Posted: neged @ Wed Aug 20, 2008 1:08 am

I recently came accross an article on Gamespy that stated that Red Alert 3 will include a beta key to an unannounced CnC. Command and Conquer: Generals 2 anyone? If this story holds weight, we could see another site to go along with Battlefield 3
